We will host a workshop led by NEW AIR Artist Lim Sokchanlina exploring the current situation of Cambodian migrants working in Japan.
There are approximately 20,000 Cambodian workers and trainees currently working in Japan, mainly through the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) and Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) programs.
This workshop will introduce the current situation of Cambodian migrant workers in Japan and provide an opportunity to hear directly about their experiences of working and living in Japan.

We welcome everyone interested in learning more about the experiences of Cambodian migrant workers in Japan.
リム・ソクチャンリナは、写真、映像、インスタレーション、パフォーマンスを用いたドキュメンタリーおよびコンセプチュアルな実践を横断的に展開しています。多様な表現手法を通じて、カンボジアにおける社会的、政治的、地政学的、経済的、文化的、環境的な変化と、それらがグローバルな文脈とどのように結びついているのかを考察しています。また、権力、経済、歴史が私たちの日常生活や現代社会にどのような影響を及ぼしているのかにも注目しています。彼の作品は、リサーチを基盤としながら、現在を形づくる歴史を発見し、読み解き、記録すること、そして過去から学ぶことで未来を想像することを試みています。また、リム・ソクチャンリナは2007年から2024年までアーティスト・コレクティブ「Stiev Selapak」のメンバーとして活動し、2010年から2024年にかけて、カンボジアの現代美術の発展に長年取り組んできたアートスペース「Sa Sa Art Projects」の立ち上げ及び運営メンバーとして精力的に活動してきました。現在は、コレクティブの活動を通じて、教育プログラムや新たなアートプロジェクトの立ち上げに取り組み、批評的な視点を持ったアートコミュニティの形成に対する支援を続けています。また、直近3年間はSa Sa Art Projectsにてコンテンポラリーフォトグラフィーという分野の指導も行っています。
